Here's what active travel leaders are prioritising now 🌍

From road safety, physical well-being, to the liveability of cities, there are different topics that resonate strongly in different lines of work today.

Listen to the panel conversation here: pathforwalkingcycling.com/path-symposi...
The 2nd half of PATH presenters spotlighted 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 + 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 🎨💛

From engaging the youth to champion #roadsafety, building bridges in underserved communities, to trishaw rides for people of all abilities, these presenters showed that a little imagination can work wonders for #activetravel. ✨
The first half of our symposium presenters highlighted the power of collaboration and data 🚲

🤝 Carly Gilbert-Patrick and Sofia Pires Bento show how collaboration drives active mobility, while 📊 Juliana DeCastro and Dana Yanocha stress data’s power with projects like Transporte Ativo & CyclingMax.
Our group of four panelists all represent various levels of leadership, but based on their stories, it's clear that active mobility can begin on any level as long as there is coordination among all stakeholders.

The most important bit? Understanding 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙮 to create a resilient foundation.
At the PATH Symposium, keynote speaker Laura Andrea Salazar Correa shared Colombia’s National Strategy for Active Mobility, which puts people at the center through a gender and differential approach that:

✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
✅ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 in male-dominated transport jobs
Thank you to everyone who made the PATH Symposium a huge success! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂

Our speakers showed that there’s no single solution to creating 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙧, 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨. It requires comprehensive, collaborative strategies that are all adapted to the geographical context. 🌍✨
We are thrilled to share the rest of our presenters for the PATH symposium! 🗣️

To give everyone an idea of how organisations and governments are addressing urban challenges through walking and/or cycling, we've selected representatives from all over the world to share their initiatives.
We are pleased to share the first half of our exciting lineup of presenters for the third annual symposium!

This part of our programme showcases initiatives around the world that use walking and/or cycling as a powerful tool to address mobility, environmental, health, and equity challenges 🚶‍♀️🚲
PATH is pleased to welcome Tu-My Tran as a panelist at this year’s symposium! 🗣️🎙️

As head of the Sustainable Mobility Program at ICLEI, she will share her insights on how cities can better support walking and cycling.
