It’s World Book Day!

And since we just can’t let that go by without some sort of treat for our friends and followers, we’re adding a free bonus book to every gift box ordered today. 📚📚🎁
I’d forgotten about the Chalet School books - they were marvellous! And there were so many of them too.
Since it’s #WorldBookDay tomorrow, we’re curious - what was your favourite childhood read?

For me, Anne of Green Gables and The Dark Is Rising were ones I read so many times, I’ve lost count!
Agreed! I don’t know that area at all but the coastal location was brought to life beautifully and the dialogue just felt so authentic to the characters, subtly changing as they grew older and matured.
Read it recently too and it was wonderful! Loved the characters and the way they developed throughout the story.
That’s very true actually. It would certainly make for an unforgettable day...
Loved Piranesi! And I think it’s one of those ones that I’ll notice something different in with each reread.
Really?! Oh my goodness, I would never have guessed. They’ve got so good at this (and that is not a compliment!)
Oh that’s a good idea! I hadn’t considered using differing spelling as a way to filter out the noise. Thank you!
Just finished Daphne du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek and am about to dive into Butter. (The book, I mean. Not literally because that would be no way to start a Monday.)
The Bee Sting is marvellous - I was never quite sure where the story would go. And I’ve been curious about Piglet.
This is definitely going on my list!
I didn’t know about the keyword bit - thank you so much!
You’re probably right. I’ve been reluctant to block accounts that I don’t necessarily object to - but equally if they only post politics, follow tens of thousands of accounts and are in the US, they’re probably not interested in engaging with a middle-aged bookseller near Belfast. It’s exhausting!
