Tribute to Ace Frehley. Musicians deserve every tribute. A career of love to that one thing. He fell in his studio a week ago. At 74, in studio...music.
I read Audition and When Breath Becomes Air lately. I've read 120 books this year, 18 audiobooks also. I am slacking. #librarytalk. I love you book folks.
It is quiet lately. Hoodie weather, watching nature, hanging with kids, enjoying the transition to time change soon, weather getting colder. Disclaimer: I hate it being dark earlier and driving in snow. All said, treasure each day in the colorful landscape we have now. We'll watch the lake for you.
Feels a bit odd to have a cake like this. Context is everything. Our small lake community is resort like all summer. The seasonals are those who live here through the first frost. Many have been here for generations in their family homes. Today I went to a see you next spring party. <3
Weird night of talking about politics in a bar that people don't know what is happening. Seriously? Yes. Grocery store at 2 pm, I complained about coffee being $20. She said, "I'm not voting. Everyone lies. " I said that's why you should vote. Here we are.
Worked all day, hung with grandkids, met my hubby for tacos. Went out visiting locals at the bar. This will be our winter at our lake. Calm, good music. Pick your choice of drama. We are good.
Pete the Cat Storytime fun.
Doing Pete The Cat at storytime tomorrow. The way darkness descends now helps me get a good night of sleep. Stay warm, read, embrace the season change. It is inviting you to trust nature.
Because we like humor and love, my hubby @peabjellytime.bsky.social and I are totally different people. He allowed me to do this comparison. Vote needed on who he loves more. I feel like mutual admiration society vibe.
Heading to bed and gave the cat some catnip as a treat. She went into her hidey hole in the cat tower. I am an enabler.
Honey crisps from upstate NY.
I offered apples. All I had. No takers.
My 12 year old grandson and 2 of his buddies showed up on bikes today at my cottage. He went into the fridge, got them each a soda like he owned the place. We yakked for a few minutes and off they went. Nanas love this.
I have read 100 books this year. I've read 2 in the last month. I need snow and cold . Climate change is real. Drought the sun killing us in PA has affected my reading. Anyone else?
Did karaoke, hang out with my daughter now home and listening to Radiohead. Music is such a great memory retriever.
Our Summer into Autumn transition has been so deceiving this year and suddenly today I needed a turtleneck under my hoodie and realized I didn't have socks on. It's been glorious. I will regroup in the morning.
She was. She was a wonderful human.
My Mom died in 1980 when I was 19. October 10th was the day. I try to celebrate it now. It was so long ago. Her spirit lives in my grandchildren, her greats. I made her peanut butter cookies today like I do every year. My other Mom has been here for 40 years. I love her as well. Lucky me.
This gray fox has been taking pears off the ground and running back into the trees all evening.
What??!!
RFK JR: There are many other confirmations -- there are two studies that show children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism. It’s highly likely because they are given Tylenol
Life feels awful. Going to bed because of this. Husband, bed, cat. That is all.
