Limited liability is one of our weird silences. It's a massive free gift society makes to plutocrats, seldom remarked upon, let alone contested. Shareholders should have to buy limited liability, like any other insurance. The insurers would then be liable. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...
I don't know what your point is. Are you saying someone earning 2 x min wage can't afford the £8.50? 2 x min wage puts you on around 40K a year ( aged over 21 ).
Correct, not sure how that 1st figure showed up. The point is, low earners pay less. Those on higher incomes shoulder marginally more of the tax burden. Surely that makes sense?
In Scotland tax starts at £14876. In England it's £12570. So, even though the rates for the higher paid are marginally greater in Scotland, we still have £2306 tax free money that England doesn't have.
Yes, pretty much this area. I've been told that the triangle in front of St Mary's was residential housing, but there's little evidence of it in any sources I can find.
@clanbroonford.bsky.social Do you have any info/pictures of the housing block that used to be at the top of Leith Walk? Pretty much where the roundabout is now?
I saw a goal from John McGinn again, He hit the ball and it flew in again, Looks like Scotland's gonny win again Good old John McGinn again, it's it again!!
