I sincerely know less than nothing about this nba gambling ring dealio. I do know that in a moment when powerful mostly white men are stealing from everybody at scale and with breathtaking gall, it’s odd that these are the faces I’m seeing.

I don't think it's a distraction. I think it's all he cares about about. But first thing is to put him in jail. Then work on restoring human rights, taxing billionaires, and restoring your economy and international relations.

I saw this film yesterday. Extremely well put together but very intense. The film makes it very clear that what Orwell saw and described is what is happening in too many places today. Most alarming for us in Canada of course is watching what's happening in the US and the Canadian sympathizers.

1. Last weekend, I went to Hartford to see the new documentary about the life and work of George Orwell. It’s called 2+2=5. I’m familiar with his work, especially his essays. Even so, something new popped out at me and I wanted to share it.

I think the same about posts about strengthening guardrails to prevent authoritarian takeovers. The real guardrails are shared norms. Rules can always be broken. Better to focus on reducing the wealth gap and keeping it small
