Six days of Napa Valley Writer’s Conference. I went as a fiction writer. It was intense and tremendously beneficial. The faculty are knowledgeable and fantastic. My fellow workshop authors are supportive and wonderful. An unforgettable week! #NVWC2025 #writingcommunity

Sounds like a great story!
Sounds like a wonderful story!
I play Tai Chi in spare time and wrote a poem about it. Our team leader sent it to the grandson of the founder of Yang Family Tai Chi Association. Now my poem is published in the international association’s newsletter.

Wonderful! Keep writing when you are rejected is a great idea.
Attended a webinar by a literary agent. She said in fiction, we need to have a physical villain and a social villain. A physical villain could be a specific person, and a social villain could be like oppression. Just social villain is not enough. #fiction #WritingCommunity #writers
I like this a lot.

Love
by Edwin Morgan

Love rules. Love laughs. Love marches. Love is the wolf that guards the gate.
Love is the food of music, art, poetry. It fills us and fuels us and fires us to create.
Love is terror. Love is sweat. Love is bashed pillow, crumpled sheet, unenviable fate.
Love is the honour that kills and saves and nothing will ever let that high ambiguity abate.
Love is the crushed ice that tingles and shivers and clinks fidgin-fain for the sugar-drenched absinthe to fall on it and alter its state.
With love you send a probe
So far from the globe
No one can name the shoals the voids the belts the zones the drags the flares it signals all to leave all and to navigate.
Language is rich, and malleable. It is a living, vibrant material, and every part of a poem works in conjunction with every other part – the content, the pace, the diction, the rhythm, the tone – as well as the very sliding, floating, thumping, rapping sounds of it.— Mary Oliver.

Thank you for responding! The link doesn’t seem to work. Could you please send it to me? Thank you!
Hi Kesia: I pitched you at the SFWC 2025 regarding my historical novel based on my grandma’s life during WWII when Japan invaded China. I wanted to do a final round of polishing before sending. I’m ready but found your query tracker closed. Is there a way I can still send my query to you? Thank you!
(Writing a poem) is a kind of possible love affair between something like the heart (that courageous but also shy factory of emotion) and the learned skills of the conscious mind. They make appointments with each other, and keep them, and something begins to happen.—Mary Oliver. #writing #poetry
The Chicago Online Writing Conference was fantastic! The workshops are wonderful. I learned a lot. I also enjoyed being able to pitch directly to agents. Because it was online, it had a large number of agents, which was great! #WWOChicago #writingcommunity #writers #amwriting
Discipline is very important for creatives. We have to have appintments to have that worked out on a page. The creative part can get tired of waiting.— Mary Oliver #writing #poetry #poems
