People be like, "Our attention spans are so shot, we can't even go to the bathroom without our phones!" Screen addiction is real, but also, we've always had distractions on the toilet. Before phones it was magazines, newspapers or shampoo bottles. Anything to keep busy during a long-haul shitter.

My "kitchen table politics" last year were like, "Do we have enough money to cover emergencies?" Or, "How much would home renovations be?"
Now it's all like, "What if my disabled sister loses SNAP?" And, "What should we eat instead of beef?" And, "How do we respond if the feds show up at our door?"
