Playing with a new lens which I am loving, some pictures taken a couple of nights ago, trying to see how it performs for sharpness, resistance to flare, and color rendition, and out of focus area characteristics, etc. So far so good, some learning to do with this new bit of equipment. #photography

I worked on a project a number of years ago to blast openings in a marsh, ostensibly to create habitat for ducks, but really it was for making prey opportunities for bald eagles.

Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque this week. Up at 3am to get to the balloon park, stand in enormous lines, get a cup of coffee, breakfast burrito, stand around in the cold, wait for the balloons to go up. All totally worth it. I love the desert, especially the mornings. Don’t let anyone tell you there is no color here. Embudito Canyon drains off the Sandia Mountains and hosts a sea of cactus, and other flora and fauna and the geology is pretty spectacular as well. #photography #landscapes #nature #newmexico #southwest
