Up north for the weekend. All set for Peculier Old 200km tomorrow from a Darlington. Not at all set for Last Chance Dales 200 on Sunday.

You are the 5th highest placed woman in the Uk which is an amazing effort.
Also 62 points is still mental, an RRtY and SR are 31 points, and I’d suggest that in the Audax Gold standard so to have doubled that is brilliant work

only 16 days left of the Audax year so I decided to try and get my head back round commuting, rather than making every ride about points.
So I rode to work in civvys. I can’t remember the last time I rode in anything other than Lycra
The exception was my onelesscar cap and some shoes with cleats on

Careful. With running you aren’t supposed to increase distance more than 10% each week to avoid injuries.

Brentwood this morning was trails the whole way round and I quite enjoyed it. But I suspect that’s only because it was dry. Give it another month or so and I’ll be looking for tarmac ones.. preferably flat

I did one in the Netherlands last year while cycle touring and they did the briefing in English, it’s so nice.

There were 10 starters. So not many. Dean the organiser did say it wouldn’t work at the weekend due to the extra traffic around Robin Hood bay and Whitby.
Tom Jackson runs Wye Wednesday, only in PBP years and that always attracts big numbers

Had a very enjoyable day out riding a 200km @audaxuk.bsky.social calendar ride in Yorkshire on Wednesday. Route through the moors was stunning, but some of the hills 😬😬

Yes I agree, they are not good for the planet and I don’t use co2 for that reason. For now I will stick with my proper frame pump which gets the job done. But I was impressed with the mini pump I saw being used, I can see why lots of people are buying them

Having seen one be used recently I’m actually sold on them, much better than one use co2 canisters.
I haven’t bought one yet but I probably will when they come done in price

1st of October. Last month of the @audaxuk.bsky.social year.
Currently 176.5 points…. 23.5 to go.
It’s going to be be big October with 10x200km’s planned plus a couple of 50’s to top it up.
Lots local but also some up north and one in Wales.

1 of 2) Great weekend.
On Friday I spent the day on the Paddle Steamer Waverley. I’ve been coming on since before I was born. Only one trip this year, but I’ll make up for that next year.
It was a birthday treat and very nice to just spend the day relaxing.
But I made up for that on Saturday

I have a Secan 2.5, currently set up for touring, I’ve done almost 10,000km in the last 2 years, but I always migrate back to the Strael.
I’ve done 600km in the last week on the Secan, but it’ll be the Strael for this weekends 400km Audax.
But yeah, amazing bikes. I am

So today is my Fairlight Strael’s 4th birthday. In that 4 years I’ve ridden 48,500km (30,100miles).
It’s is the best thing I have ever bought. Ever.
So many Audax’s, my first Paris-Brest-Paris. I’ve laughed on this bike, and cried. I just feel at home on it.
Here’s to many more adventures
