Anything less than demanding the families and children are freed is co-signing their torture. Letting them out should be the starting point of negotiations. @warren.senate.gov @sanders.senate.gov @whitehouse.senate.gov
This would be a MAJOR win for Dems. Getting them to separate DHS out of the six-bill funding package means a shutdown wouldn’t risk Head Start, SSI payments, Section 8, NIH, etc. Four days ago, I doubt this would have worked. But with republicans’ backs against the wall, it seems within reach.
Latest intel: The 5 govt funding bills will pass, & the 6th, the DHS bill, will get a continuing resolution to buy time to negotiate whatever these conditions in ICE are. The fight right now btwn Schumer & the White House is how long that CR will be. The WH wants 3 months; Schumer wants 1-2 weeks.

yes, there are no real signs of any big change in DHS activity here yet. In Chicago there really was after Bovino left and they basically ended "Midway Blitz" not so here so far.
I don’t know, declaring victory in MN seems premature. They’re still arresting people and brutalizing the community. The changes appear—so far—to be cosmetic

Protesters wanted to draw attention to the detention of a 5-year-old boy from the Minneapolis area at the Texas ICE facility. They were met by state troopers who used pepper spray to disperse the crowd.

In my own worthless opinion, they should not be allowed to call themselves newspapers. I don't. I have a lot of other labels for them, none of them involving the word news.

1. The rightwing newspapers are lobby groups whose purpose is to advance the class interest of their proprietors.
2. Lobbyists for the rich and powerful lose their jobs if they are not prepared to lie.
