at the time, she wasn't wearing jeans regularly anyway — there's a whole interview where she mentions not knowing her size bc she just wore dresses w/ boots

(also, fwiw i'm an 89 girlie too and in rural VA, we didn't wear dresses w/ jeans often)

the only possible straight interpretation i can think of is a literal seat in a chair at a table, but then the entire joke just evaporates

my straight partner confirmed he interprets it as literal (til i explained)
