It is likely that THE ONLY THING that can shame the GOP into opening the government back up is everyone, from the press to politicians, from the lowest to the highest, saying out loud that the GOP has no intention of opening the government back up, and no intention of ever having another election.

I'm amazed at how much physically better I feel after making my view that they have no intention to reopen the government well known.

He is one of the GOP people that's not allowed in their dominionist future, not because he might actually love the USA, but because his contrarian streak won't let him keep quiet.
He probably would be a decent guy but for his upbringing.

Trump's not even their main problem. If he's still alive in a year, his death will be the cause they cite to cancel the election.

I don't think Congress will ever come back. It's done. Chump has closed the Government of America and it will stay that way until Chump is gone..

What’s different about this shutdown? In past ones, Congress passed enough bills to keep parts of the gov running. This time, none. Economists say it’s trimming 0.1–0.2% of annual growth each week, about $7.6 to $15.2 billion lost weekly in stalled work and unpaid hours. Ouch.

They intend to never reopen the government. That's why leases are elapsing and staffers are being laid off or were never hired.

Saying you see the plan is the only way to disrupt it.

Taken together with impoundments, this would break everything. The president is claiming the power to not spend money he doesn't want to and now also to spend money where it's not allowed. And SCOTUS might say no one has standing to stop him. That would make him an appropriations king.

You don't understand how big this is, but farms local to me are tilling their soybeans under or leaving them to rot to till under in spring. Largely the decision is based on how problematic deer will be if they are left for now.

Even if paid retroactively, they are still furious over it.
