Text Anxiety - Gator Days Panel 1 Polly is taking a walk. This is one of her favorite streets with a street sign that says "SIGN". It's a great place to go if you're wishing for a higher power to send you a sign. Unfortunately, Polly has a head full of anxious thoughts. She has been waiting for Gwen to text her back but it has taken longer than usual. Polly (thinking): Gwen still hasn't texted back. Is she angry? Panel 2 Polly's thoughts starts to spiral. She's starting to think she might not be a very good friend. Polly (thinking): Maybe I'm bothering her. Am I bad friend? Should I leave her alone? Panel 3 Polly checks her phone and makes a startling discovery that instantly eliminates all anxiety. Polly (thinking): Oh. I forgot to press send on my last text. Panel 4 Now we see Gwen doing some grocery shopping. She's near the produce where we can see a lot of colorful and ideally edible plants for sale. There are "Perfect" CHIVES for sale as well as orange sticks, round brown things, big and green things, and red stuff labelled "RED!!!!!!!!!!". There's also shelf standard store favorites like "Box of Food", "Can of Drink", "FOMO", and "Sold out". It's the usual grocery store stuff. Gwen is also currently feeling relieved. Gwen (thinking): Polly texted! I thought she was mad at me.

It Stays With You - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 Liam is reading a fantasy novel he found called Dragon Days. As he reads, he can vividly imagine the events of the book playing out. There is an elder wizard with a mustache that appears to be fighting a fearsome dragon. In the distance, the wizard's apprentice who looks a little like Liam watches. The book does not have favorable reviews but Liam has found a lot to enjoy about it. He feels a deep connection with the wizard's apprentice. He's also interested in this dragon. Panel 2 Liam's mother tells him that the time for reading has ended. Fern: Liam, it's time for sleep. Liam: Okay. Panel 3 Liam has put away Dragon Days. He is in bed and wondering what will happen next in the story. He begins to consider the different possibilities and where they might lead. Panel 4 Liam closes his eyes. His mind drifts back the book. As he falls asleep watches the events play out in his head. He sees the wizard's apprentice wield a magical staff and stare down the dragon. He might not be reading the book but he is still in its world. This is one of the many things that Liam loves about books.

Sadly, he sees this as a good learning opportunity. Hannah: DAD! Can you open this jar? Seth: I can, but I don't think I should. Panel 2 Seth: Instead, I should help you learn how to do it yourself. Seth is prepared for this moment. Having struggled with many a jar, he knows a vast variety of tips to help his daughter learn how to open these jars if she runs into this problem again. Panel 3 Seth is ready to tackle this problem! He is ready to impart wisdom! He's ready to be a good father! Seth: This is your chance to gain self-reliance and- Hannah: Papa, can you open this? Panel 4 Daryl has arrived home and immediately opens the jar. Daryl: No problem. Hannah: Thanks, Papa. Seth gasps. He's shocked at this turn of events! It's okay, he will soon forget all his worries when he gets some of the special treat in that jar. It seems to be pickled chocolate. Who can be upset about open jars when they have pickled chocolate?

Trash Talk - Gator Days
Transcript Panel 1 Hannah and Gustopher are playing some sort of board game. Hannah seems confident that victory belongs to her. Gustopher has not given up hope. Hannah: It's over Gustopher! I have the high ground. Gustopher: Not if I roll a two or a six. Panel 2 Hannah is not concerned. She continues to taunt Gustopher. Hannah: You're a fool if you think you can win. Gustopher: I know you are but what am I? Gustopher is not very good at banter. Panel 3 Olivia and Liam are also at the table. Olivia watches Hannah and Gustopher yell back and forth while Liam is occupied with a book. His book is called "Book: The Movie: The Novel". It's the novelization of the movie based on the hit book called book. It's garbage. In front of them is a board with various spaces that each have a word starting with the letter "F" on them. Spaces include Fear, Fork, Feast, Fight, Flip, and Flee. The pieces are all supposed to be things that start with "F" but the game developers really stretched it for some. They include a metal cat that's supposed to be a feline and a little metal cup that's supposed to be a full cup. Hannah: My strategy is unparalleled! Roll your last pathetic die! Gustopher: You're pathetic! Gustopher is still not very good at banter. Panel 4 Olivia is beginning to wonder if she's been forgotten. Liam is unbothered. Olivia: Did they forget we're also playing? Liam: I like it better this way.

He's had to leave his son with a co-worker, Iris, while he takes care of things and has just wrapped it up. He's picking up Gustopher now. August: I'm done. Thanks for watching- Gustopher: DAD! Panel 2 Gustopher is filled with an unreasonable amount of energy. In his hand is an energy drink that says "INFINITE ENERGY - Insomnia Flavored". Mistakes were made. He speaks rapidly, loudly, and with no respect from proper sentence structure. Gustopher: IRIS LET ME HAVE ANYTHING I WANTED FROM THE VENDING MACHINE AND I GOT AN ENERGY DRINK AND IT'S SO GOOD CAN WE GET SOME FOR HOME AND WE WATCHED CAT VIDEOS AND IRIS YELLED AT SOMEONE. Panel 3 August stares at his son with a mixture of exhaustion, surprise, and just the slightest amount of amusement that he knows will not last. Iris hopes this will dissuade August from putting her in this situation again unless it is absolutely necessary. Gustopher: I DIDN'T KNOW I COULD YELL THIS LOUD! Panel 4 Iris: He's a good kid. Good luck. Gustopher: I'M SHAKING! Gustopher is vibrating. His face is not exploding. All things considered, August thinks that this day could have had far worse outcomes.

No Children (Part 3) - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 August was called into work to take of an emergency and Iris is doing him a favor by letting his son wait in her office. Gustopher just learned that Iris doesn't have any kids and is curious about that. Iris has a cup of coffee in a mug that says "BOAR FACE". Gustopher got a can of something from the vending machine but it's slightly out of view. Foreshadowing is a literary device. Gustopher: I thought married people always had kids. Iris: Some don't want to kids. Panel 2 Iris looks away for a moment. She feels a momentary heaviness and continues. Iris: And some want kids but life doesn't work out that way. It's like... You're probably too young to understand. It's a complicated topic and Iris has a lot of complicated feelings about it. Panel 3 Gustopher just says the first thing that comes to his head. Gustopher: Like loving and missing someone you never get to meet. Iris: Kind of like that. Panel 4 Gustopher begins to dwell on the topic. Gustopher: That's not fair. Iris: Yeah... Let's watch cat videos. Cats help.

She begrudgingly agrees, but is not enthusiastic about having to watch a child. Gustopher has found a random photo and is asking about it. Gustopher: Who is this? Iris: My husband. Gustopher: Any pictures of your kids? Iris: We don't have any. Panel 2 Gustopher finds this odd. He thought everyone had kids when they got married. Gustopher: Why? Iris: Because I eat kids who ask too many questions. Panel 3 Gustopher knows that adults are joking when they say stuff like but can't help but feel that Iris sounded too serious when she said it. He look back to see her sipping menacingly from a mug that says "BOAR FACE". Panel 4 Gustopher: I can't tell if you're joking. Iris: Me too.

I need help and you're the only one I trust. Iris: Fine. Panel 3 August has left his son, Gustopher. Iris regrets everything. Gustopher is looking around with curiosity. There's not a whole lot to see. In the back is a poster with an angry cat hanging onto a rope. The the poster says "HANG IN THERE AND GET REVENGE". Panel 4 Gustopher decides to ask an important question. Gustopher: Does your phone have games? Iris: Yes. Gustopher: Can I play them? Iris: Absolutely not. Iris does not like dealing with children.
