One lesson I learned back in the day the hard way: Using CLOCK_REALTIME to calculate precise intervals. Things get messy when NTP adjusts the time. CLOCK_MONOTONIC or CLOCK_BOOTTIME FTW in these cases.

Back in the day the Cray T3E could do checkpointing very nicely: www2.lbl.gov/Science-Arti... Someone could correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think any system since that has been able to achieve the same functionality in a real production environment.

Back in the day the Cray T3E could do checkpointing very nicely: www2.lbl.gov/Science-Arti... Someone could correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think any system since that has been able to achieve the same functionality in a real production environment.
