He looks like couldn’t be happier, dancing with his new goons, his new power, new money, etc.

But he’s not, because he’s missing the things that did make him happy. His wife and kid, and he’s never getting those back.

As he’s partying in his flashback it shows him and his family. Dancing with his wife at their wedding, and playing with his kid. Interweaving that with the party shows it’s what he’s been saying to people, and to the little girl he’s talking to, “it looks like I’m smiling, but I’m not.”

I think he’s backstory montage with getting his revenge and partying in the flashbacks to his wife and kid is absolutely beautifully represents what he feels. Because in present day he says in more than one episode and says in episode six “it looks like I’m smiling, but I’m not.”
