You need to be Victorianmaxxing. You need to be going Edwardian mode. Can't really go wrong with this selection if chills and thrills and more than a century of remove is what you're after

In general "no modern recoloring" would be a pretty good standard for comics to hew to
For years I’ve been trying to get someone at DC or Marvel to create an art book titled “Lichtenstein in Context” reprinting the stories he plagiarized as RL would have seen them (no modern recoloring) and giving the proceeds to the artists or their families. Sell it in museum gift shops.

Very funny that Erika Kirk wasn't part of the Charlie Kirk mythos at all until he died.

Weird that a lot of people think Geese is overhyped, you'd almost think there's some kind of precedent for indie acts being seen as dated signifiers for a particular moment in time whose music doesn't actually hold up

New pet peeve I've discovered in recent months: ordering ham as part of a breakfast and receiving goddamned lunchmeat ham.

I wonder how big a star 6ix9ine had the potential to be if he hadn't been completely repulsive

Doing some 2011 listening. God "We Found Love" is a boring-ass song

End of year lists have no meaning now that AcclaimedMusic no longer updates. If they cannot be collated, what purpose do they serve? [snorts] what, to holistically discover music through the channel of a particular taste maker's idiosyncrasies? nonono...

I think a lot of my psychology is based around refusing to be part of an in-group and detesting being made to feel like I'm in the out-group

Every time I think I'm so fucking sick of Quentin Tarantino's shit somebody inevitably shares this photo and the belly laugh it drags out of me forgives...well, most

It was pretty satisfying to see all the "Kanye is still the GOAT" guys get soundly defeated by these past few years. The "giving that Kanye/Drake thing 5 stars on Letterboxd" crowd needed to be chastened

announcing this right after Rush announces a new tour is so funny

This is also true of Ghost's second album, which has always been and seemingly will always be Ghost's worst, most-mid album
Weezer's Green Album is one of the few albums my opinion on has never changed. It has always been boringly uninspired and the dictionary definition of slight. I think a lot of the Weezer albums people really hate are probably better.

[thinking of positive things to say about myself] I'm not quite as pathetic and lonely as Philip Seymour Hoffman's character in Happiness

It's a great bit to enjoy every form of music except 21st century indie rock. Classic rock, prog rock, ska punk, nu metal, 90s indie rock, grunge, disco, swing, classical, country, all good except for the thing that makes me the biggest in-the-moment contrarian to enjoy. And it's completely sincere

One thing I don't really buy about the last season of Magnus Archives is that any of the evil avatars are actually enjoying themselves. The monsters like Breekon and the NotThem behave much more plausibly (ie they seem kinda miserable)
