they aren't perfect products but the writing is solid and the world building vibes are GREAT for a lite horror spooky autumn

I will say a lot (not all) of the primary characters are minors aged like, 8-17, but this isn't Young Adult fiction. this is solidly adult fiction with genuine horror and gore elements but the children are never exploited or hurt in a sexual abuse way. these books are 2/3 of a trilogy

ALSO, I finished these books by J.M. Miro today. Ordinary Monsters and Bringer of Dust. if you want an alternative to HP but from a more adult and horror-filled perspective, highly recommend. multiracial and international cast of historical characters with equal importance in the narrative
