To me, the purpose invisible MCs serve is they signal you’re okay with people projecting onto the protagonist. It feels kind of rude to do that to a defined MC.

Often, it’s not “finding songs that fit my characters” so much as “scrambling to think of a scenario in which the song currently stuck in my head would apply to my characters“.

You know how the more detailed you make your art of a human being, the more anatomically correct it has to be, otherwise you get uncanny valley? I think content warnings are kind of like that, too. The more detailed they are, the more accurate they have to be.
