worth noting video importing isn't for avatar building it's for nodes only... using videos in avatars is pretty unreliable considering the buffering time, the cpu/ram usage, etc. animated pngs or gifs are still the way to go

this new node basically lets you import audio clips and connect them to other nodes. this way you can prerecord stuff and use the audio file in veado just like you would with real time microphone stuff

you can also import video clips. unsure what ppl are gonna use it for but you can

there was a period of time when i wasn't progressing with veado like at all bc i was just adding support for a bunch of different file formats for like a couple months. i hope i can export this as a separate library one day because hell there's a lot in there

we added support for importing layered images (.psd files and such) on veadotube today which means that my Image File Format Parsing hyperfixation from a few years ago finally paid off bc now veado supports importing files from photoshop, csp, sai 1 and 2, paint dot net, medibang paint, firealpaca,

if you don't wanna reinstall windows you can go for the "Commercial ESU Program" option in here massgrave.dev/windows10_eol and you'll get security updates until 2028. doing nothing will leave you without security updates and thus vulnerable to the horrors (cyberattacks and whatnot)

yes, win 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC is a version that lasts until 2032. you download the .iso and use it (e.g. with Rufus) to create a usb stick installer that'll reinstall windows and you're done. there's also a no-reinstall alternative (lasts until 2028) + more info in here massgrave.dev/windows10_eol

on top of that there's lots of good win 11 debloating tools. there are ppl still updating the win 7 kernel just to stay on it and run modern programs. on the linux side there are so many distros coming out that are beginner friendly. you'll never run out of options to use your pc the way you want

obv it's always a good time to ditch microsoft and explore linux and see what works for you, but sometimes it just doesn't, fully or partially (i still use windows on the side for a few programs that i need that don't work through wine), and it's good to have options

lots of ppl talking about the windows 10 support cycle ending and thus being a good time to switch to linux. i do wanna say that if you don't wanna jump ship, the IoT Enterprise LTSC version of windows 10 will be supported until 2032, and you can grab an official iso of it at massgrave.dev
