It’s been a long, productive day. I hate stopping when the flow’s so good and ideas keep coming, but I’ve finally reached a point where I can step away and get some well-earned shuteye.
Life has the right answers, IF we present to it the right questions and remain open-minded enough to receive the answers that speak back to us.
Torrential rain all day, but worth it for this gorgeous rainbow 🌈 that appeared when the sun broke through this afternoon.
It's a gloomy Monday morning, but I think it is a perfect time for cozy coffee, deep focus, and getting stuff done. Who's ready to make this week count?
Everyone’s path is different. I am moving at the pace that’s right for me.
Yay! The weekend at last! This week threw a few curveballs, and I lost the internet for 24 hours, but I'm grateful for the respite. I'm gardening this afternoon, then tackling domestic chores and art tomorrow when the puddle-jumping weather arrives. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
This resonates: "Naming a painting is a small milestone, a closing ceremony, a gift to the painting and the viewer, a mark of completion, a small badge of identity." — Helen Wells
It's time for a well-earned cuppa after a full day in the garden. I had to watch my step outside... not for the fungi (though there's plenty this year), but for the robins at my feet, chirping impatiently for whatever beetles and worms I unearth.
Finding my sacred space this morning. Joseph Campbell knew: "Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again." Have you found yours yet?
Congrats to the the courageous Maria Corina Machado, Nobel Peace Prize winner 👏🎉
It’s a gorgeous day in the sunshine. One of the big rhododendrons in the garden is making the most of it — a few buds are starting to open.
I'm battling screen glare today. Even worse is cycling when sunlight strobes through gaps between tree trunks so you can't see the potholes in the shadows until it's too late! Already damaged my front tyre wall doing an emergency slalom through a cluster of potholes while a car overtook too close.
Thursday got off to a fun start! Did the panic mad dash this morning after forgetting to put the wheelie bin out...only remembered when I heard the refuse truck a few doors up. I was too absorbed in art last night to think about bins before the sleep fairies took over! How is your morning going?
Today's off to an interesting start! An old client tracked me down for an urgent design project for an industry event. Apparently, I'm still highly recommended across their departments. But flattery won't result in mates rates... just sayin'! 😂
Time to go gardening! I've got a stack of bulbs to plant, but first on the list is trimming the lawns - which will save me from raking all those leaves that blew down yesterday.
Misty start to Thursday! It was a chilly 8° out there, but the sun is now trying to break through. Have a fab day, everyone! #Thursdayvibes
I called in at Wakehurst this morning. There was not enough time for me to do a full walk of the garden, which was just as well because it started to rain.
On the tube in London - I noticed everyone's scrolling on their phones except for one lady wrapped in a technicolour scarf, earbuds in, feet tapping to her music while busy knitting a jumper. It made me smile! Sometimes analogue joy wins.
It's the last September weekend! And my reminder to keep your eyes wide open – inspiration is everywhere if we just pay attention. Even the smallest moments can spark something amazing! What will you notice today? 👀
I picked up Sussex Folk Tales this summer (along with a small stack of local gems). It's perfect for my ADHD work breaks, and when my mind drifts from the screen, I can dip into one folk tale.
It's a chilly start to Thursday! My early morning cycling route took me down leafy tunnels on the valley roads, which made it feel extra chilly. I now feel invigorated and ready to get stuck into today's tasks. It's definitely going to be a creative and fun-filled day! Plus, I have cake!! 😋
I spent a quiet moment with the fuchsias in the garden this afternoon.
So glad I left yesterday's research hanging and slept on it! Coming at it with fresh eyes this morning, I discovered the market gap I was seeking...and without Chatty's help! The answer was right in front of me; I just hadn't connected the dots yet.
After a chilly start, it's warmed up nicely out there. My gardening gloves will see some action shortly! Gardening therapy is just what's needed to de-stress from work.
In my front yard, the Magnolia stellata is showing off. I love how the bright orange seeds really pop against the green leaves.
