It gives me goosebumps to think this happened in the month I was born. And if you are wondering like I did where the camera was, it was mounted on the unique SPAS-1 satellite, which was released from the payload bay, to perform microgravity and Earth observation experiments, and was then recaptured.

I’m intrigued. There are 12,000 A320’s operating, but only 6000 need to be fixed and of those only 1000 need a hardware upgrade. But the issue here is apparently *solar flares* causing corruption to flight data. What is the software fix for that? Some kind of error detection / correction algorithm?

#Ukraine has attacked and at least severely damaged two oil tankers in the Black Sea thought to be part of Russia’s shadow fleet that transports oil and circumvents international sanctions. Both were apparently heading to Novorossiysk which has itself been hit repeatedly.
A second oil tanker has gone up in flames in the Black Sea. Both ships have been identified as the M/T Kairos and M/T Virat. The destination of both oilers is the Russian port of Novorossiysk.

In the early hours of this morning, following 119.6mm of rainfall in 12hrs, the River Monnow burst its banks and flooded Monmouth. The usual river level is just under 2m, this morning it was 6.63m- even higher than the record-breaking level during the floods in 2020 (6.57m). Absolutely devastating.

I really don’t want to jinx this but…I can’t help myself. England lead the All Blacks by 25-12 in the second half. If they win, that would be 10 matches in a row…

Some VERY excited commentary on the landing of the New Glen NG2 booster (stage 1) on the autonomous barge 'Jaclyn' in the Atlantic ocean yesterday, per @nasaspaceflight.com
LANDED IT! That was crazy! Looked like it was going to miss, but slid back into the target and pretty much hovered to the deck and nailed it!

The New Glenn heavy launcher (Blue Origin) became the third partially-reusable (unmanned) launch system in history by landing on a barge in the Atlantic after launching the two #NASA ESCAPADE #Mars orbiters, built by @rocketlabcorp.com.

• S1 = methalox

• S2 = hydrolox

• Specific Impulse = 445 sec
Yesterday afternoon, New Glenn took its second flight, launching two spacecraft for the ESCAPADE mission. The clear skies and daylight launch this time around provided brilliant views of GS1 from ignition until reentry.

It turns out, to everyone’s complete surprise, that replacing part of the worlds most iconic building with a gold-lined vanity ballroom as your people struggle economically and simultaneously having their loved ones deported by mask-wearing goons is not, I repeat, *NOT* good electoral strategy.
