Doing a little prototyping today

A small square of perfboard. Mounted on it are an ESP32S3 microcontroller board, a U-Blox GPS module (with antenna), 6 N-channel FETs, 2 RGB LEDs, and 2 47-ohm resistors.

The bottom (not seen here) is a small rat's nest of wire wrapped connections.

An IKEA KALLAX storage unit. 6 of the square cubbies are filled with fabric boxes, one has some random junk, and the last is holding a tabby cat.

The cat's name is Molly, and she doesn't care that I would like her to move so I can return the items that are normally stored there.

I love the expandability of the Bus Pirate. Fully open source with a great community, it's easy to add new functionality to interface to different hardware and busses.

It took 3 revisions to get right, but the DDR5 RAM SPD adapter is now available. Use with the Bus Pirate to read and write DDR5 SPD EEPROMs. HSA pin is grounded so blocks can be unlocked (offline mode). UDIMM (desktop) and SODIMM (laptop) supported.

At the gym raw-dogging the rowing machine (no phone, no music, no earbuds; just rowing along with my thoughts), when a jagoff behind me starts loudly talking into his phone. His phone that's on speaker.

Not even pretending to be using that elliptical; just leaning on it, hollering into his phone.

How much hardware does one need to read the code out of an MCU if the "proper" programmer isn't available?

Well, so far I've got a @buspirate.bsky.social, a Saleae, an Arduino, some perfboard, & way too many cables 🤣
