He wiped her tears away with the pad of his thumbs.

"My darling, you don't seriously think I wouldn't? I mean, this is the first time I've ever had anything good happen to me ever.. and it's you. All of you.." He frowned, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"And if we can't.. we run to Essos."

"Aegon is more forgiving than you think, Helaena too. The true king and queen." He muttered.

"It is Aemond that I would need to convince. He is...strict on duty. He would never approve of anything I do anyway. Considering the eye. Whether the sept or a marriage. I will never be okay in his eye."

His heart clenched, seeing the tears in her eyes. He's a prince. He can do as he wishes, and he would soon remind everyone of that if they dared question..

"I don't want you to take anything back.." He shook his head. "I will renounce the sept if I must."

"It's just me. You have no news to be nervous," he muttered then.

Cupping her face as he moves to get a better look at her.

"It's just me. Do not think of me as a prince or as..," he couldn't bring himself to say septon. "Just Rhaegon."

"I've been wanting to do that for a while," he muttered, nuzzling against her. Pressing soft kisses along her jaw.

"Please, Lori. Just Rhaegon. No formalities. I'm just me."

When they parted, he chuckled. Not at her, at himself.

Licking his bottom lip as he laughed at himself.

"I never thought I'd have the nerve to actually kiss you. I was scared you'd hate me."

Arms sliding around her waist. Pressing her against the wall behind her. Trapping her there between the wall and his body.
