Many men who couldn’t see past themselves (inserting themselves in conversations that weren’t theirs to have, patronizing people who called them out…) are now very quickly realizing that they are in fact, not untouchable. That the system that has benefitted them for a bit, isn’t there anymore.

OMFG all of this. There’s a lack of empathy and critical thinking that has been festering for decades. There *were* so many of us ringing the alarms waaaay before 2016. The dismantling of information, the need to placate white rage, the complete lack of understanding of the law and how fragile it is

It’s so vile. All of this is so infuriating and the apathy that I see is jarring.

Many were humbled when they realized that the law does not in fact, stand on the side of justice anymore. I think it caused a shock.

But to then just passively sit and take it? It’s fundamentally un-American.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”
