I just looked through Guerilla's games list and yeah I've never enjoyed one of theirs. Same with Naughty Dog tbh, they have 2 series which are basically the same fucking game and the gameplay loop an hour in is all you're getting for all eternity.
Horizon looks fantastic but it is an 'open world' game and suffers from the same onset of boredom fairly early on imo. There was something about the way it felt to play that just wasn't as fun as it probably should've been.
I'd never actually compared them considering they're both LJN. The NES version starts you off in a truck stop car park, the Gameboy version has you in the future fighting hunter killers and T800s, GB version cooler NES soundtrack seems to go hard though.
I had T2 for the Gameboy, it was a multi genre type affair, side scrolling shooter, puzzle game, driving game... It was not good but as it was one of the few games I had I played it through repeatedly and learned all the quirks and puzzle solutions. Speedrunning it before I even knew what that was.

Jorp has always been a mess. I'm still not sure this isn't a grift tbh, I wouldn't put it past his daughter whose dumb fucking ideas he always goes along with.
Like it annoyed me so much I hate-gamed it, trying to kill off the characters and it just respawned you like "no dear, you can't do that". To me that's just having no faith in you being able to wrap up a story, handholding you all the way to one of a few pre-determined endings. That's not freedom.
Oh actually, Detroit: Become Human. That was the worst because it's barely a game at all. Touted as a story you control I tried my best to end it early because I'm in control and I only succeeded in killing off one character. The other two were required so the devs could finish THEIR story... Crap.
My attention span refuses. Only exception has been Metal Gear V but I was so, so close to turning that off because a 30 minute intro is so self-indulgent. Just make a fucking film, christ.
