Also I hope his father died of pancreatic cancer but that goes without saying
odeuponwater.bsky.social
Which reframes the cops’s non-reaction to his father screaming at him in a pretty interesting way: that’s obviously some selfish brat who’s acting out and stealing stuff, not someone’s spent their life being horrifically abused and has to steal to survive.

One very interesting thing about Kaiser living in poverty as a child is that his father likely wasn’t living in poverty alongside him: he seemed to have a decent amount of money from his producer days, it’s just that Kaiser was incredibly neglected and abused.

I remember one doujinshi I read of them where they were childhood friends and Isagi was being mildly-teased-by-senpai and I thought “what’s the fucking point of this”

There seems to be very little fan content exploring their canonical dynamic and that sucks so much because it’s great

Thanks !

It was actually kind of annoying writing all of those down bc of Bluesky’s character limit (forums and Tumblr have spoiled me)

And then basically the rest of the story is them coming into conflict with other explorers, braving a dungeon that increases your power the more you kill
odeuponwater.bsky.social
This has resulted in Japan having less explorers than other countries, meaning it’s lagging behind financially thanks to having less artifacts

Enter Ego Jinpachi, who decides to train a bunch of teenagers to form Node Connections by themselves, and then train them more to become super-explorers
odeuponwater.bsky.social
You can go through the corridor as a team, but there’s an increased chance of the Node refusing the connection. Accompagnied by someone with a connection, the Node will always refuse the connection.
Japan, so far, has played it safe, sending out its explorer in teams.

Unfortunately they’re really hard to get. You have two ways of getting into a Node: phase through the wall if you are already connected, or fight a huge amount of monsters and puzzles, all of which change anytime sometimes enters the corridor to the Node
odeuponwater.bsky.social
Nodes are basically glowing orbs found scattered around the Labyrinth, and you can « log into » several of them. They grant you the ability to use magic, enhanced abilities, and as long as you die within the Dungeon you will revive at the closest Node.

Mutated plant seedlings that can feed thousands, magical weapons that can fell armies, and more. Theirs is basically a world of magitech, with stuff like magic-based space programs and things. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to properly explore the Labyrinth without a Node Connection.

Noel Noa led the teams for the exploration of level 98 through 104, and is a huge deal.

There are a bunch of entrances to the Labyrinth scattered around the world, most of them heavily guarded because monsters emerge from them every now and then, and also because the world economy runs on them

Okay came up with something that could fit Blue Lock’s themes and plotline But Magic.

The world the whole cast sits upon resides upon a huge labyrinth. Said labyrinth has about 300 levels, or that’s what people theorise. Only about 100 have actually been explored by humans.

Wizard Alexis in a fantasy AU would go hard though.

I wonder what the rest of the Blue Lock cast would be like.

His head only contains misplaced devotion to the world’s worst twink.

Also I’m kind of fascinated by someone who has never touched fantasy in so complete a form.

Or « Kaneshiro said Kaiser and Ness have a human connection, which means their relationship that of coworkers since human relation obviously refers to HR »
odeuponwater.bsky.social
A good chunk of Kaisagi twitter seems to have lost their ability to read or comprehend any form of knowledge in favor of mindlessly hating on Ness.

Such bangers include « Ness is called a magician, and all magicians in fantasy are evil traitors, so Ness was only using Kaiser this whole time »
odeuponwater.bsky.social
Ness is a kind of wizard/pixie thing that’s likely distantly related to Madjick.

Nanase is a humanoid mouse, Hiori is a video game controller thing.
odeuponwater.bsky.social
Blue Lock characters as Undertale monsters is this anything.

Nagi is obvs a skeleton, I wanted the Itoshi bros to be birbs at first but ghosts-turned-robots feels better, Reo is a humanoid chameleon, Bachira is a weird catboy shadow thing with a comedy mask. Kaiser is a birb like Martlet

He should be gently placed in a steamer basket

It’s very likely that Rin has watched at least one BL based off his favourite song being the OP to Banana Fish but I think that Rin having half of his top 10 favourite shows be BL or BL adjacent while thinking all of this is perfectly normal friendship is even better

I don’t think Sae would have good points he would just glare

“I am Yoichi’s strong partner and my traumas are but the ladder that will lead me to glory” when Isagi doesn’t really like him and he hasn’t dealt with his traumas or his desire to be loved or his self-hatred other than in the most superficial aspect

Peak doomed yaoi moment btw
odeuponwater.bsky.social
To be clear, it’s a yaoi moment but absolutely not in the way ppl tend to think. It’s very very blatantly Kaiser trying to cope with his trauma while also completely misinterpreting how Isagi feels about him.

It’s also Kaiser trying to project an image of strength into his internal self.
