Darius. He’s 17, and no longer knows which way’s up. He smells a bit. All our cats were abandoned as kittens. But he still gets on my lap, and sometimes has the sense to settle down comfortably. If he makes it till the spring, he’ll probably enjoy being outdoors again.

But think of all the astonishing things he's selflessly done for this country and look at all those medals which he won during his four months in the Royal Marines.

People donate money to our politicians because they think it’s a good investment. Either for their business interests or to further their idea of what the country should be like.

Those are not things you should be able to buy in a democracy.

The richest 150 people in the UK get £120,000,000 richer every single day, and that's not share value.

That's profit stolen from you through the Banks, Energy Companies, and Supermarkets they own.

But the problem is someone getting £10 on Universal Credit?

Somehow this got missed off the "Benefit Street" front pages today
70% of the additional spending from removing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work. This is targeting support for low-income working households who are being priced out of a decent standard of living despite doing everything asked of them.

Ha’penny stayed outside in the rain till he was nice and wet. Then, after the manner of his kind, he’s got on my lap to clean and to dry himself off on me. When he’s done, he’ll get off, leaving me with wet cold patches on my clothes.

I see all the headlines today refer to ‘Benefit Street’

What they don’t tell you is 60% of those on benefits are in work.

No outcry on those employers not paying enough or concocting hours to enable people to claim UC.

First it was immigrants. Now it’s those on benefits.

Not only did Brexit not provide any extra money for the NHS - as liar-in-chief Boris Johnson promised - but Brexit is impoverishing the UK each year by an amount of money not far off the annual NHS budget.

Thanks Farage.

Brexit has cost each and every one of us £3,700 a year.

But instead of solving the problem, Labour are using Brexit as an excuse to raise your taxes.

My message ahead of the Budget: Stop blaming Brexit and start fixing it!

Brexit: “The most dishonest campaign in our history said it would save us £350m a week, but Brexit actually cost us £250m a day in 2025. That is why we have the highest taxes ever, that is why we have sky-high bills, that is why we have a cost of living crisis” @eddavey.libdems.org.uk

The UK is losing up to £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis for the Lib Dems suggests.

Brexit has blown a "black hole of [up to] £90 billion a year in the public finances" the party says. Even under lower estimates the hit is ~£65bn

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1
