Yeah new Expedition 33 interview was out. The generated texture was just part of them experimenting with GenAI when it was brand new years ago when they were first starting working on the game. They didn’t like it, said “it felt wrong”, stopped using it, and a single texture from that got missed.

In Super Mario World, green berries increase the timer. By strategically eating them to make the timer pass 100 multiple times, the music can be sped up repeatedly. It turns out that the music engine cannot handle more than 20 speed-ups, and slows down to a crawl instead.

I think I finally figured out what the main problem with New Horizons is and why it fails as an animal crossing game.
Unlike every other game in the series, it places emphasis on what you can do tomorrow, instead of making "today" important in game.
