Went to an open air xmas market, and mostly had an okay time window shopping--except for the one stall with crafts made from "olive wood straight from the holy land"

Honestly genuinely exceptionally tired of the casual antisemitism I have to put up with in anti-Zionist spaces. I’m sick of being told it doesn’t matter while I watch “leftists” laugh at literal caricatures.

"technical and operational limitations" smh they've expanded from discriminating against trans women to robot women

Hell of a way to find out Crumb's still alive
Bob Crumb coming out of retirement just to say "RFK Jr. is right about vaccines and my ex-wife should've taken more advice from me" is such a fitting end to Boomer Americana and everything the "alt-comix" movement claimed to stand for

An experienced organizer I really respect once reminded folks "you can't always win, but you can always, always inflict a cost. Those add up."
You cannot match the size and resources of these organizations that are abandoning trans youth and sacrificing trans lives, but you have one advantage they do not: an ability to maintain a relentless focus upon them.

Make it your work, every week, to think about how you can punish them.

Fenway was essential to my finally transitioning, and the letter in which they announced they were no longer going to offer transition care for 18-and unders was a knife in the gut. I'm glad at least some groups are protesting them.
Here in Boston, we’ve made it more costly for Fenway to abandon trans youth and trans adults by protesting in front of their clinic, by severing ties with them, and by disrupting their gala and public events.

I suggest local activists elsewhere investigate similar potentials for disruption.
As a matter of survival, our response must be to make it as costly as we can, as ugly and as reputationally damaging and as expensive as we are able to - to abandon and sacrifice trans people.

To keep it from being an easy, simple bottom line decision to drive us out of public life.

I don't want to talk about World AIDS Day because I don't want to talk about the person I lost because I don't want to deal with the fact that he is gone and didn't get to teach me to use the cameras he gave me or be one of the people I came out to

I don't want him to be gone

RIP Bob Finney

The place that is sponsoring and organizing World AIDS Day in Boston is part of Fenway Health, which just cut off gender affirming care for minors and some adults (18 year-olds are adults!). So even a community health organization founded by and for queers isn't distinguishing itself in this moment.

Since our fucking government isn’t observing World AIDS Day, I will. In 1990, I started taking care of people in the last stages of AIDS in their homes. I did this for nearly two years. The home care company I worked for had meetings for those of us who solely (or nearly solely) took care of PWAs.

The other thing about this is, my pcp wants bloodwork done so I'm having to lower my usual e dose until the bloodwork's done. It's hitting me pretty hard, but he'll prob want to decrease my rx if I'm outside wpath guidelines
Granted, I was wearing a mask, but having the x-ray tech ask whether there was a chance I was pregnant is probably going to be the highlight of my day

Today is World AIDS Day.

“An awareness day is not a strategy” is the US government's rationale for not publicly acknowledging World AIDS Day for the first time since the inaugural WAD in 1988.

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.
