Focusing on the big issues - they're all about environmental damage that humans are inflicting on this planet. Is there anything else that's more important? Plus a glimpse of reality. https://mikerobertsblog.wordpress.com/

What does "Net emissions" mean? Are these consumption-based emissions and do they include LULCF emissions, air transport and sea freight emissions?
Yes, civilisation is what most people want to save, including self-styled environmentalists. mikerobertsblog.wordpress.com/2025/06/26/p...
Sustainable ... growth?!! Can you hear yourself?
All governments are in climate denial. They all prioritise economic growth over climate, or the environment.
Sounds like you need a Zoom meeting to figure out when you should have a Zoom meeting.
Not needed if you stay away from sugar. Flouride is not totally safe as it can destroy good mouth bacteria.
Another safe way is to not imbibe sugary drinks or eat food with added sugar.
if that's our best weapon, there really is no hope.
Would we notice any difference?
Well, the modernity experiment has a finite future anyway.
That's good but note that EVs are not clean.
You don't need to wait.
She kind of implies that humans have a distinct nature compared with other species. That is human exceptionalism. But at least she realises that there is no way out.
The only clean energy is foraged food. I doubt that's what you're referring to.
The 1.5°C target is dead. There is no way to achieve that, without collapsing society.
But what exactly is the accumulated number each year? Is each month's anomaly just added to the next month's number? If so, what is it telling us?
I'll take the under also. Extent is not the best measure of sea ice health. Even area doesn't tell us the whole story, and that was the 4th lowest area, this year (10th lowest in extent). Volume would be the best measure but we don't measure that directly. But August was the 3rd lowest PIOMAS volume
Of course it's not. If the path is two centuries long, it gives us time to adapt. I'm not saying we will but a very long path is different from a very short one.
What is ridiculous about it? The future hasn't happened yet. That's a simple, though true, statement and we MAY know the most likely outcomes, but definitely not the path to those outcomes.
Now is the present. No-one knows the future.
It's amazing how many people think renewable energy harvesting infrastructure is clean. It's as though they think that all our environmental problems will disappear if the transition can be completed.
Seems like it but no-one can see the future, in detail.

Facts don't form beliefs, the make up of one's brain does. Hausfather can do nothing about the way his brain works, because "he" is his brain.
I thought that was already in progress.
