"We have an economy where a handful of modern-day robber barons wield extraordinary power. They hold enormous control over our paychecks, our bills, our time, and our futures.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a time to celebrate those who first called this land home.

America’s unions recognize the struggles and tragedies they have endured, and we honor the many indigenous communities and cultures that have contributed to the story of our labor movement.

Workers are already struggling to make ends meet because of rising costs. Letting the ACA tax credits expire would blow up families’ budgets.

We shouldn’t be forced to choose rent or health insurance. Congress must fix the health care crisis NOW.

We won't stand for this administration using hardworking Americans as pawns in a political game.

America’s unions will see you in court, President Trump. aflcio.org/press/releas...
AFL-CIO: America’s Unions Take Trump to Court Over Illegal Firing of Federal Workers.

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler issued the following statement after the Trump administration illegally fired federal workers after shutting down the government to avoid fixing the health care crisis:

“Donald Trump shut down the government, choosing to lock workers out of their jobs instead of doing his. As millions of workers miss paychecks and Americans open letters saying their health care costs are skyrocketing, the Trump administration is creating even more pain and chaos by moving to illegally fire thousands of federal workers today. We won’t stand for this administration using hardworking Americans as pawns in a political game.

“America's unions will see him in court.”

The NYC labor movement stands with @newyorkstateag.bsky.social. Her courage, integrity, and commitment to justice have never once wavered. This is not just an attack on her, but on our very democracy itself. Working people know what’s at stake and we stand firmly with her.

This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.

I am not fearful — I am fearless.

We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights..

All Latina workers earn $0.54 for every dollar a white, non-Hispanic man makes.

Working 10 extra months to make what others did last year is unacceptable. America’s unions are fighting for a more just economy, and a union contract is how we close the wage gap.
