My kids grew up hanging out in the warehouse office. Then they were super impressed with how fancy the next office was. Thought maybe without bringing up the hard conversations, their view of startup life might be: dad hosts parties and movie nights and sometimes takes phone calls.

Finished setting up local coding environment with Node, React, TypeScript, Supabase, NextJS, and NextUI. Plus aider to write the code. Thanks to ChstGPT and Claude, I have a written technical architecture doc and product spec doc. Only spending a few hours each weekend, so it’s slow going.

I’m going to build a language learning app just for fun. I fully expect to top out at 5 users. Will use AI to write 100% of the code. Though, using aider is kind of like writing pseudo-code to write code. I’ll also still pay for apps like Umi for learning a language.
