Frankly, it was a miracle they were able to take three games from the Red Sox and they were only there because facing the Twins is an auto-win for them
They were an awesome offensive team but aside from Mariano, Tom Gordon (both of which were overused to hell during the regular season bc of it) and 15 starts of El Duque the pitching was mostly bad to average and the defense was atrocious
The Jays were second to last in strikeouts the last two years. The teams they were behind were the Royals and Nationals. Replacing Trent Grisham with some Aaron Miles-like isn’t going to solve anything, particularly when the bigger issue with the team is sloppiness
Much of the obsessive yelling about the Yankees’ strikeouts is getting to be too boomery and over the top. The Mariners had a handful less and are one win away from the World Series The Jays didn’t strike out much but they didn’t last year & had a team 98 OPS+
There’s some parts of that game that got surprisingly tough yeah. I think they added a boss in an update that I tried and after one death was like “alright I’m fine”
One issue with deciding to go until a hard 12:30am out on every show is that some shows don’t have the cards to get you there. You end up with this show where most matches felt 5+ minutes too long and the end of the main event that blew off a year long feud felt anticlimactic because time was up
I’m looking through the roster and I honestly cannot see a single candidate to challenge Hangman at Full Gear so Joe in a rematch is probably as good as idea as any
I think two things are true: I'm just really down on wrestling at the moment but I also think I'm not seeing some five star affairs and giving them twos. The ceiling seems to be lower across cards and companies lately.
That Bucks/JE match started well but eventually felt like it was just moves after awhile. Bucks matches usually go past their peak but the peak wasn’t even that high in this one. Disappointing as a fan of both teams
