I've been a lapsed Catholic for 50 years. Of course, I had to conceal it while I was at my Catholic boarding school.

Even then, my teachers regarded Opus Dei as heretics, sadomasochists, and dangerous to faith. Not THE faith, any faith.

Doctors finger your bum. If you're lucky, they find nothing. If you're really lucky, they find it in time, as in my case.
