Sorry. I know that “America” (geopolitical empire) and “Americans” (people) are different things, but with few exceptions (Carter), this “beacon of democracy” is just BS for domestic consumption. The moment some corporate interest is minimally threatened abroad, the beacon turns into a death ray.
