Personally, I have no desire to conceal my location. I want them (whoever "they" are) to know I am not going to back down. I fully appreciate that not everyone has the privilege to say that and for those folks I'll do anything I can to help protect them. But I'm not going to hide from these people.

Exactly! What's the point of demonstrating against authoritarianism, demanding human rights for all (regardless of ethnicity, sex, gender identity), demanding action on the climate crisis, etc, etc, etc if some people we disagree with are on our side. Yeah, let's just stand by and let Trump win.🙄

I hate Trump's stupid insistence on renaming it but (and I apologize...it's the history teacher in me) by 1843 all of Florida plus the Gulf Coast west to at least* New Orleans was part of the US. I realize it's a minor point but the map you shared showed the US prior to 1803. This one's a bit closer

That is my greatest fear and I don't even have grandkids yet! My oldest only just got married (in a rush after the election because her spouse is trans and they can't wait to start a family. It is insane that any of us should even be thinking about this stuff, let alone worrying about it.

It's a close race, but RFK Jr. appears to have the lead in the "which Trump stooge is going to inflict the most harm" competition. Some day, hopefully soon, Bodi will be gone, Noem will be gone, Miller will be gone but the path of destruction he is blazing will devastate humanity for decades.

For years I would share a comment made by a prof. when I was an undergrad: "Starving people are very inconvenient for the powers that be." (She was a master of understatement and I think we all got it.) I then would add, "Think of it. If you're going to starve to death, why not storm the castle?
