They're eating lunch together too so they aren't strangers.
Man would rather be uncomfortable than sit beside his buddy- or sit on something soft.
He looks miserable and constantly shifting on his small rectangle chair.
Meanwhile his buddy is on a comfy padded round one and having a good time.

Out to eat for lunch, two guys walk in to sit at the bar. There's two comfy padded chairs and one hard chair. One guy takes a comfy chair, and the other comfy chair is right next to him.
The other guy takes the hard chair so there's a space between them.
Doesn't move chairs or sit by him.

I think the term "slop" has started to loose it's meaning.

Slop means cheap, easy, low effort, quick and easy, it's not good.
But people starting to call any game with a mildly attractive woman or man "Goon Slop" is... really?
That took time and effort, that is anything but slop.
