Rounding up in Botswana it was interesting holding millions worth of uncut diamonds in my hands. Didn’t feel real.

Visited De Beers Group and KGK (one of several value-adding companies) handling Botswana‘s most important export, diamonds, which is experiencing tough market conditions at this time. (1/2)

As a mother I am greatly saddened by the kidnappings in our country particularly of our children and teachers from places of learning. My heart goes out to the children and all those kidnapped and to their families living in fear and uncertainty. (1/2)

A wonderful first day for the WTO and multilateral trading system at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. Virtually every leader referenced the need to support multilateralism and in particular the rules-based multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core. (1/3)

An honour to do the Chief Albert Luthuli Memorial Lecture today in Durban, South Africa, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Chief Albert Luthuli is an icon. The first African to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1960 for his peaceful anti-apartheid activities as leader of the ANC and before. (1/3)
