The recent traffic delays near Morrisons supermarket in Bedlington were caused by a burst water pipe. We worked closely with Northumbrian Water to carry out emergency repairs as quickly as possible to maintain water supplies. Schalksmuhle Road is now open. However, the road will need to be closed again from 8PM tomorrow (Thursday, Nov 4th) to allow the road surface to be repaired safely. Due to operational issues we were unable to collect some garden waste bins in parts of Ashington today (Wednesday 26th November). We aim to return tomorrow (Thursday) to empty these bins so customers are asked to leave their bins out. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Rothbury First School will be closed tomorrow Thursday 27th November due to having no water. The mains water has been switched off due to a burst pipe.

The public transport 682 has broken down on route, a replacement bus is on route and will be with them shortly, but there will be a delay getting to school. School have been notified. Students assigned to this bus are on board and waiting safely with the driver.

School Transport route HAY1095 from Ridsdale to Bellingham Schools has been unable to run this morning due to weather. The transport will attempt to run this afternoon for the return journey from school, subject to weather.
