Some good advice here for conference talks.

I would also like to put in a plug for please making your colloquium talks accessible to upper level undergrads. 🎢 ⚛️
I find there's a huge mismatch between the standard advice that people give about scientific conference talks, and how people actually give talks.

So I picked out the most important pieces of advice that are most often ignored. 🧪
The best scientific talk advice that gets ignored
Here are some prescriptions for a case of UCPS (Unengaging Conference Presentation Syndrome).

And what twenty years it has been! I'm proud to have been part of the journey for a little while. Here's to another twenty, but I hope you take some time to celebrate first, @natphys.nature.com 🎂🥳🥂
Happy birthday to us!

This month, Nature Physics turns twenty.

We celebrate with an Editorial that looks at the history and future of the journal, and a Feature that catches up with the authors of the papers from our very first issue.

I need some help 🙂

I am working on a piece about women in STEM, either consciously or not, code switching. Not just in communication, but in appearance, mannerism, etc.

Have you? How? Maybe you don’t anymore, but what are some things you did early career or see others doing?
