start including native north americans in your calls to action, i am begging. see us. not always as people in regalia, not what you think we should look like -- see US, people whose histories and present lives are affected by foolishness like this. natives deserve better than what they are given.

honestly native people are sidelined so much that i hope people ARE uncomfortable speaking about it. i think more people need to be ashamed of what has been done to our ancestors, and what happens to us on a day-to-day basis. today they opened an old scar for the SOLE purpose of inflicting pain.

the way that history constantly either omits or rewrites the atrocities indigenous people have faced on turtle island is repulsive. residential schools, renaming it a "battle" instead of what it was -- a massacre -- mmiw, the % of native ppl in prisons. hair cutting. it goes on. open your eyes.

letting the soldiers of wounded knee keep their medals as a main issue the usa feels it needs to address right now is such an incredible act of performative racism. they don't care about their medals. they're dead. but this disrespects those they murdered. hundreds of natives, disarmed, slaughtered.
