A reminder not to ignore new / small sounds when cycling - and to regularly check all fittings.

On my Brompton heard a light metallic clink as I'm guessing the rear brake bolt and washers departed.

Now where can I find a Brompton fitting concave washer?

New blog post with a summary from last week's Education forum: Focus on Youth Jazz Orchestras. The biggest takeaway from the session was the recommendation that #improvisationisforeveryone - regardless of genre.

I'm playing tracks for John and Richard on The Big Beat tonight. A sad month for news like this. I've now heard that saxophonist and CLCM staff member Mike Cox has also passed away.

Really sad about the passing of Rich Blanchard. Great memories of gigging and travelling to gigs with Rich. Not only a brilliant drummer, boogie woogie pianist, teacher and music examiner but ace friend and bandleader. So long mate.

I really love free little websites with a single, useful tool - what are your favourites?

I use symbolsalad.com basically every week. It has a huge number of unicode symbols that you can copy, including Greek letters and absolutely loads of math symbols.
