Been to a couple of holiday parties this year and I have to say, the quality / availability of non-alcoholic beers seem to have gone up. I'm impressed!

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

What awful awful news. A sentence that could unfortunately apply to a multitude of things.

Every once in a while I'll meet a member of one of the Abrahamic faiths that give me hope religion is maybe kind of okay. (I'm still very much not that, but it's comforting anyway)

This movie is going to get skipped in a lot of best lists, so I just wanted to give a shout out to Black Bag. It's GREAT. One of my favorites of the year, it's a criminally underrated Soderbergh film. A shame it didn't make money. But I loved it.

Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

I haven't done a lot of interviews in the past five years, but WOW has voice recording / transcribing technology progressed a lot. My most recent bout of interviews/transcripts would've taken days, now it's done in... minutes?? AI might be bad at a lot of things but transcribing tech is amazing

It's with heavy hearts that we share that Claude, our beloved albino alligator, has passed away at the age of 30. Claude brought joy to millions of people at the Academy and across the world during his 17 year tenure. We will miss him dearly. 🤍

tiktok / social media is genuinely such a weird toxic place. saw a vid where this lady was making a weird snide post about another woman proposing to her male partner. and everyone in the comments are like "ew no". so.. what? only men can propose? wtf? what year are we in?
