Trump has called off his invasion of San Francisco, apparently because a bunch of his billionaire friends asked him not to do it. I am both relieved and *furious* that this is where we’ve come to. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

I'm a HUGE baseball girlie and am so excited for WPBL in San Francisco but the logo and design are cringe ngl
WPBL needs to get the Valkyries marketing team. Because... yeah, the merch and the logo ain't it
this combined with the s25 edge not selling well -- it's almost as if people don't want skinny phones

At Yonge & Dundas Jays fans are obeying the pedestrian scramble, as is the custom & returning to sidewalk each light cycle.
(That said, I too want it to be real)
The reason the Mariners time traveler doesn't make sense is that of all the times in history, why come back to NOW?

The world joined us and said, “No Kings.”

Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) at the Boston No Kings rally today, wore the trans pride flag like a scarf draped over his shoulders and included in his speech. "Because here in Massachusetts, we stand for what is right. We stand with trans people because trans rights are human rights."

Hello journos! I discovered what appears to be a slew of scam online stores complete with fake (?) addresses and phone numbers. I want to know 1) is this a story? Scams are common but these look particularly bizarre due to the “legit” feel and use of generative AI 2) how do I pursue this?? Halp
we're living in an austin powers movie
tired: musk is using boring company to dig tunnels for el chapo

wired: whatever this is
A Putin envoy has entreated Musk and the Boring Co. to build an undersea tunnel connecting Russia to Alaska through the Bering Strait for the low low price of $8 billion. The Trump-Putin tunnel. details @cnbc.com www.cnbc.com/2025/10/17/m...
Got paid today. Also got a low tire pressure warning today. What the universe giveth, it also taketh.
I feel like we've learned all the wrong lessons from science fiction.
All these movies imagine AI as sexy, handsome, attractive personas. So boring. Why not make them look like blobs or fairies or gnomes?
Word-limit: 800 words. I write 1000 words. Spend a lot of time editing things out, deleting paragraphs. Still end up with 850 words.
At this point, Trader Joe’s is a tote company.
as someone steeped in this world, i've read more non-gadget tech stories in the past year than i've read gadget-related stories, so i guess i don't feel it as much. it's a balancing act i suppose.
someone commented to me recently that a lot of the mainstream tech outlets "focus too much on gadgets" and it made me pause. do they? or is it a normal amount? or is the deals/buying guide commerce content overshadowing the non-gadget content (because pubs need to make money)?
