It is depressing to witness how (fanatical) appeals to something that is a contingent creation such as a 'nation' (I prefer to speak of States, groups are always pluralistic) make some forget about fellow human beings, flesh and blood, with emotions and dreams, just like them

In light of how misinterpreted, ridiculed, deformed, and constructed in utmost bad faith others in their positions or persons often are, I venture that people tend to relate to caricatures- which is more comfortable for the ubiquitous sense of superiority- than to actual persons

I would only add that, imo, the same can be predicated of many or mostly all legal subjects -save for individuals, ontologically- and constructs
