In the late Metrodome era, "The Twins Way" was a guiding principle. Today it's merely a street sign outside of Target Field.

On field and off, team leadership is signaling an intent to return to their old identity: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
For Good or Bad, On Field and Off, Twins Franchise Looks Ready to Lean Back Into the 'Twins Way'
All indications suggest Twins leadership is longing for the days of low-budget piranha ball.

😂 sounds like satire but it’s true
My view: Pohlads are longing for a return to "The Twins Way."

They say their (mid-pack) spending levels became unsustainable. Falvey talks about building an identity around "fundamentals" and "details."

Interviewing Nick Punto for manager feels like the deadest giveaway yet.
Sounds like the Twins are viewing Ramon Vazquez as a candidate for manager.

Here's a video the Red Sox put out a couple years ago introducing him as their bench coach: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQAh...

Yeah my concern is that this would be the motivation
Offer only valid in original location on select dates, this was all in the small print Adam.

(Just kidding, I would love to crush some ribs with you at the new spot, place is gonna be so awesome.)
I need to see some sort of rationale for why Torii Hunter is a good managerial candidate for the Twins other than "vibes."

Like what are his philosophies? Can he sync with this FO? Do we have any idea?
I don't wanna oversimplify things, but I'm gonna:

If the Twins trade Pablo Lopez this offseason, they are not trying in 2026. If they don't trade him, they are at least somewhat trying.

Pablo López Is the Pivot Point for the Minnesota Twins Offseason
If the Twins trade Pablo Lopez this offseason, it's a clear sign they aren't trying next year. Simple as that.

Was feeling cheery so I wrote up a piece for TD tomorrow on what a full-scale offseason teardown would look like for the Twins — basically trading all veterans with any value and running out like a $50M payroll next year.

Honestly it's not out of the question!

The rotation ended on a high note, for what that’s worth, as the Twins wrapped up a 92-loss season and stare ahead to an uncertain future.

The season’s final Week in Review is live @twinsdaily.com
Simeon Woods Richardson has induced 15+ swinging strikes 3 times in his past 4 starts. He had done so once in his entire career prior. 19 today a new high.
What a second half for Simeon Woods Richardson. And what a finish for the Twins rotation.
Ballpark was brand new at that time. Twins easily drew 2 million in those years despite being bad. That's not happening next year.

Also like, what is your point? The Twins were bad for another 5 years after that stretch you mentioned.
The Twins lost over 90 games every year from 2011 to 2014, and I think Twins fans forget that when assessing the current state of the team. The current roster and farm outlook is significantly better than it was in 2011. Remember when our future ace was Kyle Gibson?
Really hard for me to envision a scenario where Target Field is not a desolate, bleak place next summer. And that's not a feeling I've had since it opened (sans 2020). Beyond deflating.

I don't know what leadership could do now to avert this, but they probably won't try anyway.

My most diabolical take is that the Twins are going to re-sign Emilio Pagan during the offseason.
Very solid season finale from Bailey Ober today. For what it's worth, he leads all Twins pitchers in fWAR since the trade deadline.
Carlos Correa has slashed .286/.348/.427 since being traded to the Astros at the deadline. Ranks second on the team in fWAR with 1.5, which would lead all Twins.

Still hasn't been enough for Houston. They've gone 22-27 to fall out of playoff position.
Who are we seeing in a Twins uniform for the last time this week?

Strong possibilities: Rocco, Ryan, Lopez, Vazquez, Jeffers, Julien, Larnach
Heading into ASB, Guardians were 46-49, 12 GB. Twins were 47-49, 11.5 GB.

Guards lost their star closer to gambling scandal, but dug in their heels. Have gone 38-24 to close gap in ALC. Twins sold out, gave up. Have gone 20-40.

Difference between these franchises in a nutshell.
They'll have to pay him. Not sure it matters.
