Removing the final two seasons of Kyle Dugger's contract means that he will be ineligible to become a 2027 compensatory free agent in favor of the Steelers and against any team that might sign him in free agency.

And if I'm correct about this, this pick...sure has been moving around a lot.
It looks like I missed adding the Brian Robinson trade to the database, and looking back at the wire the 49ers should have sent their own pick to the Commanders.

So that should mean that the Vikings 6th is going to the Patriots.
And now another 6th/7th round swap to the Steelers involving Kyle Dugger just makes this even more complicated.

At least I know the Steelers' 6th has to be their own. They should have at least one compensatory 6th coming their way, but they can't trade that now.
The 49ers have two 6th rounders: their own, and one they got from the Vikings in the Jordan Mason trade.

The Patriots have two 7th rounders: their own, and one they got from the Saints in the Davon Godchaux trade.

We await to see which ones moved in the Keion White trade.
The other 6th rounders that should be in play involve the Texans via the Ben Skorownek trade, and the Ravens via the recent trade the Titans made with the Jets for Jarvis Brownlee.

Now that the Curse Of Hank Scorpio is preserved, it's the second longest streak in measurement of time that one team has had over another.

The longest? Washington hasn't beaten Kansas City since *1983*.

And guess who's playing tomorrow?

Commanders vs. Chiefs.
Today is a day where the Go For It Down 8 advocates will take in stride.
It's not a huge comp pick cancellation, but the Ravens could afford to play Cooper Rush for only a couple more games before he'd qualify as a compensatory free agent against them that'd cancel out a 7th rounder in 2026.

An added reason to play Tyler Huntley beyond on the field.
$15,000 is a stiff fine for a rookie like Cam Skattebo.

Typically, Appendix U of the CBA caps first offenses to no more than 10% of the player's cap number for the game, which in Skattebo's case would have been $6,157.
This Sunday, the Broncos and Cowboys meet again.

Will The Curse Of Hank Scorpio be lifted?

Or will Homer continue to try to cheer himself up by batting the light bulb in the basement, knowing what could have been had he accepted the gracious gift he was given?
Others...not so much.

Such as 2017, a 42-17 blowout.

Or in 2021, where the Broncos secured a 30-0 shutout until the Cowboys scored some garbage points.

Or, in 2013, where offense dominated until a late interception of Tony Romo--who will be calling the upcoming matchup--provided the defense needed to secure victory. https://x.com/MileHighMoments/status/1710369336878104823
Some of these were thrillers.

Such as in Thanksgiving on 2005, where Ron Dayne broke a long run to seal the game in overtime.

But The Curse Of Hank Scorpio doesn't end there.

Since then, the Broncos and Cowboys have faced each other 7 times.

The Broncos have won all 7 games.
As for the Cowboys since then?

No more Super Bowl wins.

No more Super Bowl appearances.

And even the longest active NFC Championship Game appearance drought!

And over twice as long as the next NFC team!
At this point, we must observe a brief interlude to recognize the immense contribution that the other of the two greatest animated shows of all time made to this timeline:

But, what's happened since then?

Well, the Broncos became recognized, by the Pro Football Hall Of Fame, as a co-dynasty to the Cowboys of the 1990s, promptly winning back to back Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998 (and 2015).
Marge said this was pretty good! Homer accused her of not understanding football.

That's because at this time, the Cowboys had won 5 Super Bowls, including 3 of the last 4.

The Broncos had been blown out of 4 Super Bowls, the first of which was to the Cowboys.
Almost exactly 29 years ago, on November 3, 1996, The Curse Of Hank Scorpio was placed upon the Dallas Cowboys.

Let's step through what this is, and how it's manifested over nearly three decades.
Finally, DJ Reed missing time due to injury has to be frustrating to the Lions.

But there could be a very outside chance of a scenario like this that give them a 4th round 2026 compensatory pick if he continues to miss more time.
If Rico Dowdle qualifies as a compensatory free agent, he and Javonte Williams would cancel each other out with 7th round valued contracts, and open up a 5th or 6th round 2026 compensatory pick for the departure of a different player that Williams is currently canceling out.
Meanwhile, while the Cowboys have been canceling out a higher 2026 compensatory pick by starting Javonte Williams, Rico Dowdle balling out in Charlotte might get him above the qualification bubble if he hits some incentives.
If the Dolphins' season continues to go south, would they consider limiting snaps of those 3 players to protect that Jevon Holland 4th round 2026 compensatory pick?

Only 1 of the 3 can qualify to save it, or 2 of 3 if Da'Shawn Hand plays enough for the Chargers.
