I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

"There are now more private equity firms in America than there are McDonalds."

A great explainer about why 99% of us feel crushed by inflation and crashing job markets while the on-paper economy and stock markets continue to grow.

the AT&T-->Time Warner-->Discovery series of media mergers were some of the most pointless and disastrous business exercises ever conceived by man

so of course we're going to do it again

this time it's rumored they want $60 billion to sell this mess to Larry Ellison and whatever's left of CBS
Warner Bros. Discovery puts itself up for sale
The announcement comes after WBD previously said it would split in two.

On the topic of The #Louvre Theft, a 2017 book for readers age 8-12, "The Crims" by Kate Davies follows an extended family of slapstick-level (really bad at their jobs*) miscreants that work together to steal back an object that was taken from them

New York was crushing it with the cooler weather & today it has deceived me.
To drink Amish kefir after buying a random grocery store brand is the funniest first sip. Like, you now know THIS is what it was supposed to be. Pero also...

getting rid of Marc Fisher is about the dumbest thing the WP has done yet — and it's been doing a LOT of very dumb things. And without copyeditors, the opinion section won't just be historically or politically illiterate; it's going for the full trifects. x.com/SegravesNBC4...

My upstairs neighbors are having a gathering for Yom Kippur and my nosey 14 year old cat will not come inside because he is listening to the party. I should just let him go up at this point.

Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.

Telling a group of generals there’s “an enemy within”—basically meaning the left – that must be “brought under control”? That’s straight fascist stuff.
All I want to do is ignore the nation around me, under a blanket...and I know that to act this way is strictly out of the running. I guess, fighting for Democracy has to happen twice a century...and we dealt the short straw. We do it scared, people.

What I would give for a completely honest, anonymous assessment of this appalling and ludicrous spectacle from the commanders in the room.

💙📚 (Vid from '22) "The Magical Imperfect" by Chris Baron is a heartwarming Fall Read for young readers ages nine and up. 2 children share a beautiful #culturalconnection in this #middlegrade book full of American melting pot energy, with some California history baked into it's pages. #kidlit
