Shocker: Trump lied
Trump: “It won’t touch it”

It’s the Epstein Ballroom. Trump will let it touch whatever it wants.

RIP John Burton, a politician of unmatched passion and purpose. We had many lively exchanges. My fave JB story: He claimed to have outscored the great Bill Russell in a USF-SF State game. His pal John Madden called BS — so JB called me to check archives. It’s true! JB had 20, Russell played briefly,

This absurd @washingtonpost.com editorial reads like a parody. Do they really think rebranding a “Dept of War” is the solution to “mission creep” as the lawless Trump administration is sending troops to patrol American cities and blowing up a civilian boat, killing 11, far from US shores?

How @gavinnewsom.bsky.social should frame redistricting plan for voters disengaged from politics: Go beyond the save-democracy debate. Show how the lack of a congressional check on Trump affects their daily lives.

Instead of taking over the DC Metropolitan Police at a time when crime in the capital is declining and is lower than it was during Trump's first term, wouldn't it just be easier to release the Epstein files?

Today I raise the flag in appreciation of the men and women who paid the ultimate price in defense of our great nation. May our commitment to an enduring democracy be worthy of their sacrifice and eternal honor.

For all the buzz/outrage over “Original Sin by Jake Tapper/Alex Thompson, let’s not forget the other original sin: Merrick Garland. He dragged his feet until shamed by J6 Committee, thus giving @realDonaldTrump a chance to run out clock and now wreak havoc on democracy, grift amok and exact revenge.

When the reporters are hand-picked by the administration, there is - and should be - skepticism of whatever is reported. That's not good for the government or for democracy. Favoritism breeds flawed information.

Great ASU conversation on democracy and press freedom with David Axelrod and ex-WaPo editor Marty Baron. Ax: “The great challenge to democracy is cynicism.” Baron deplores those who foment it with falsehoods and conspiracies — calling out Elon Musk as a culprit who’s “abused his power.”

Toss your hat in the ring for DNC leader, Jim. That party, this nation, desperately needs someone to speak truth to tyranny in no uncertain terms.
Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

Trump’s appointments show utter contempt for national security (Gabbard, Hegseth), public health (RFK Jr.) and rule of law (Gaetz). Senate, don’t take a recess from doing your job for the American people.
