This utility of this makes zero sense until you remember that Unity’s business model is now ads and not gamedev. That some people can make real games with it is now an accidental byproduct of an elsewhere-directed effort.

Finally saw the northern lights. Only had to go to the Finnish arctic circle in February to do it. I’ve had terrible luck in other “probably visible” scenarios so finally bit the bullet to ensure a “will definitely be visible scenario”

plopped some land in and it felt absolutely awful. weird. but i think you have to listen to what the game tells you

Experimenting rendering w/ mixed rez (water is 1920x1080, world is 480x270) & eh it just doesn't look as good as I'd hoped. The effect is defeated by the shared depth buffer being full rez. Also breaks SSR for reason I don't understand. A full solution would prob req Compositor but I'm not motivated

Tried to get a routine service appt. for my car at Toyota. Was forced to interact in voice with an AI over the phone. (No disclosure that it was an AI, took me a minute to realize it!) The service valet came a week early to pick up the car (on a day where I needed the car). LOL absolute shit
