Once upon a time, a group existed called “$1 Donations” and there were thousands of people in the group, and the goal was if everyone donated $1 to a goal then it would be funded/overfunded quickly. If people wanted to donate more, they could. No one was obligated to donate, but it was encouraged.

I was working two jobs prior to not working until it caught up to me and I ended up in the ER with a heart rate that wouldn't slow down until I had to take medication. I have been trying to get on disability since. A year later I started to caretake for my disabled child by myself as well. I had help previously but it wasn't working out and l've had to do a lot of it on my own, now I'm stuck in a situation where working isn't possible for my health and while I'm already caretaking for my disabled child that needs constant care. I did not ever envision this happening to me and have always worked hard to take care of my family but now I'm in what feels like an impossible situation trying my best to take care of my kids and myself so I can stay around for them as long as possible. Im not enjoying coming online asking for help but I have no where else to turn. I'm doing

Mutual Aid has been tough, slow and sometimes difficult and painful to get goals met. If $1 Donations takes off, ideally if enough people contributed it would help A LOT of people in need.

The rule was, once goal was met the person had to delete their post ASAP and make an update post stating goal had been met.
Being overfunded wasn’t frowned on, but it was encouraged to share the overfunding to other open goals.
